The big release!
March 2026
Hi squad,
This month has been an absolute mood booster as we lurch out of the dreary Scottish winter.
My new kid’s graphic novel SECRET AGENT NESSIE arrived in stores on the 19th. And to celebrate, I did a comic con panel with artist Laura Howell and several school workshops, which has been such a buzz.

As an added bonus, we already sold 150+ copies through these events, which is such an amazing result.
Fancy buying a signed copy? Email me and I can set you up.

Speaking of Every Last One, it’s doing great in Spain since it was picked up by Cartem Comics. Artist Dani Coloma has appeared in comic stores and Valencia comic con. Chapter 2 has just been released and Chapter 3 should be coming out there shortly.
Our niche Scottish horror story in Spanish never ceases to amaze me. What a result.
What does the future hold?
I’m working on a kid’s graphic novel pitch with United Agents for the traditional book market. It’s now nearly a year since we began development and I’m both excited and nervous for when we query it to publishers this April. This project is a different beast: we’re aiming for a 200+ page fantasy adventure.
I’ve also just wrapped up a pitch with the wonderful artist Ahmed Raafat. Here’s a sneak peek at one of our characters…
This one is for the comic publishing market. The route to publication on this one is a bit trickier and we’re trying to find the best home for the project.
Maybe we’ll do a Kickstarter down the line? Hmm.
On a personal note
I started lifting weights again! It has been nearly a year and a half. I dragged myself to the squat rack and came out invigorated.
Scotland has rained non-stop and now that there’s some sun, I’ve been taking full advantage by playing basketball in the garden and visiting a whole other type of garden with friends (beer-themed)
I played Resident Evil 9 and loved it. I just wish it was a bit longer. Resident Evil games, which I’ve been a long-term fan of, aren’t known for being long, but I just really wanted to spend more time in 9’s world. Fantastic gameplay, atmosphere, voice performances and the usual silly plot to boot. Classic.
Thanks everyone! And as always, here for questions and answers, so please comment and be in touch.
Gary
